Avalara is seeking a Sr. Marketing Manager to drive cross-sell and up-sell demand generation programs in Avalara's customer base. Our marketing team is looking for a superb marketer to create and execute marketing programs to achieve lead generation goals for Avalara's enterprise customers and build the sales pipeline for our Customer Account Managers. Job Duties:

* Responsible for the strategic program management for specialized customer segments, leading a virtual team to help execute each strategy
* Plan, execute and evaluate marketing programs for specialized customer segments through a variety of channels in the marketing mix, including creating and managing integrated marketing campaigns, email, webinars, and use account-based marketing tactics focused on lead generation and building the sales pipeline.
* Responsible for writing creative and content strategy briefs to work with content developers to create compelling content to publish for promotional programs including, but not limited to, email, direct mail, landing pages, newsletters and other customized web, digital and social outlets.
* Work closely with our Customer Account Manager team and arm them to be successful by delivering customer intelligence, create sales enablement programs, and provide expertise and programs to help them identify opportunities to sell. Experience marketing to large enterprise accounts a strong plus.
* Analyze and understand key customer segments to develop compelling messaging and marketing offers, as well as provide insights into customer needs, behavior, and the customer lifecycle.
* Write email copy and write, edit, update and publish content to the Avalara.com website, newsletters, and other outlets as needed.
* Deliver timely marketing plans that include success metrics and reports for defined marketing initiatives.
* Build extensive knowledge in defined segment group of customers, including appropriate product and solution areas and develop expertise with industry, product, partners and competitors.

Qualifications:

* 3+ years marketing experience, including experience in B2B marketing. Prior experience in customer marketing / loyalty marketing.
* Bachelor's degree. Degree in business, marketing or communications preferred.
* Excellent grasp of B2B marketing, product marketing, B2B selling concepts and the sales pipeline. Previous experience in a solution selling environment and supporting an enterprise marketing strategy is a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong writing ability.
* Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g. SalesForce.com), marketing automation platforms (e.g. Eloqua), and analytic tools (e.g. Tableau).
* MBA a plus.
