GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Works closely with enterprise-wide internal and external communications teams, as well as business unit leaders to develop consistent content strategies that support and extend marketing initiatives. Develop high-value messaging targeted for key audiences that aligns and defines company brand, drives sales, engagement, and positive customer behavior. Responsible for analyzing, planning, writing, editing, distributing, managing and monitoring a broad range of communications projects, materials and content across a variety of venues and platforms that is engaging, accurate and relevant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop a content marketing strategy that addresses the company's business and brand objectives, and resonates with top customers; use analytics to determine the platforms to focus and the messages that matter to the audiences we care most about
* Leverage creative design resources and marketing data to develop standards, systems, and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, retrieval, repurposing, and retirement. Partner with other members of the corporate communications team to magnify the reach of content and ensure content is presented in the most effective way
* Create and manage an editorial calendar that supports core company-wide brand campaigns
* Develop editorial content that is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels online and in print.
* Monitor and measure effectiveness of campaigns; gather and analyze data and make recommendations; develop reporting on these metrics for the executive team;
* Create a feedback look with top sales executives to ensure messaging and vehicles are resonating with customers and prospects; work with owners of particular content to revise as needed to meet marketing and sales goals.

DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:

* This job makes decisions and/or recommendations related to the development and placement of marketing content
* Acts as subject matter expert on all things related to content and channel optimization, brand consistency, segmentation and localization
* Participates in vendor selection process and manages vendor relationships

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in marketing or business
* Minimum Required Experience:
* 5 years' experience working in marketing/communications with a focus on web and print content development and strategy.
* 1-2 years leading multichannel content creation
* Desirable Education/Experience:
* Advanced degree in business or marketing a plus
* Transportation and/or supply chain industry experience a plus.
* Multilingual abilities a plus

* Basic Computer Skills –
* Strong Fluency user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

* Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
* Other Technical / Computer Skills -
* Thorough knowledge of internal company software applications applicable to position/business unit
* Acts as subject matter expert and provides training, troubleshooting and other support for software applications managed by business unit (i.e. COGNOS, FIS, Incentive Scorecards)
* Understands and is familiar with the most widely known and emerging tools, technologies and social applications.
