What You Will Do

The Senior Manager, Retention Marketing, will be responsible for maintaining and delighting our existing direct customer base to grow the business, lifetime value and advocacy. You will be responsible for specific retention goals and programs and be empowered to create the strategy and tactics necessary to succeed. This person will work closely with the broader marketing team to execute breakthrough campaigns across email, site, social and other channels and partner closely with the entire cross-functional team.

General Functions + Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement and manage programs to increase customer spend and maximize lifecycle retention to drive repeat sales, build loyalty, and reduce churn by engaging customers with the most targeted, relevant and helpful content and merchandising at each stage of the customer lifecycle
* Develop and manage our customer communication plan--driving the calendar, messaging, testing/optimization, audience selection and analysis/key insights for our CRM campaigns
* Analyze performance of customer communications by channel/cohort/tenure/etc. and assess contribution to retention and LTV
* Manage annual sales and cost forecasts and corresponding budgets
* Initiate, execute and analyze creative and promotional tests carried out via email, website and other channels with goal of engaging customers, driving repeat orders and increasing ROI
* Vet and manage new and existing vendor relationships
* Partner with E-Commerce Analyst to perform customer analysis, segment customers into meaningful and actionable cohorts, conduct A/B and multivariate tests, establish reporting infrastructure, track and analyze performance, and communicate results
* Map and optimize the end-to-end customer journey: Work with internal teams to identify places in the customer journey where customers disengage, then develop strategies to pre-emptively identify, win back and retain those customers
* Use segmentation and behavioral data to personalize and optimize each customer's online experience
* Drive continued optimization and evolution of our email marketing programs, including lifecycle trigger programs, transactional messaging and large scale campaigns
* Partner with site content marketing to develop engaging site messaging

Who You Are

Skills & Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Online Marketing, Marketing Communications or related field
* 6-10 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or related fields
* Experience leveraging data-driven research/analysis to drive strategic direction and optimize programs
* Strong knowledge of web analytics metrics and tools
* Intermediate HTML knowledge
* Experience with CRM (Salesforce)
* Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
* Must be comfortable with change, and excited by imagining the "art of the possible" and dreaming up new ideas for breakthrough marketing
* Excellent communications, organization, team-work and follow-up skills
* Hands-on experience with email marketing in an e-commerce environment
* Experience leading creating and executing email marketing campaigns
