Marketing Digital Properties CNN Brand Within the Creative Marketing Department, this Creative Director will be a co-lead with a Marketing Director. Together, they are responsible for the marketing of specific priority digital properties. This position will oversee the strategic marketing and communication of these properties across all communication points and media platforms. Collaborating with senior leadership in Creative Marketing and Digital departments, the CD will help facilitate the translation of marketing objectives into creative strategies and provide appropriate brand solutions. This is a multifaceted role, providing leadership, supervision and scheduling of assigned team. The Creative Director will be held responsible for the level of creative ideas, design and final production of the ideas. The creative must be constantly pushing the CNN brand in both fresh direction and final execution.

Major duties and responsibilities in creative development:

Develop, sell and execute creative campaigns for multiple, key digital properties. Explore and create new ways to market these properties across digital, social and on-air platforms. Develop thoughtful solutions to keep properties top-of-mind with user even when properties are not primary focus.

Strategic planning:

Develop, sell and execute long-range marketing planning for priority properties. Be constantly tracking and analyzing the brand and our communication of the brand for successes and new opportunities across a wide range of platforms from social to digital


* Minimum 10-years media/digital marketing/planning experience
* Thorough knowledge of national and world news and entertainment events
* Deep understanding of digital, social brands and their capabilities
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* An online portfolio of your work, with a link included in your resume

Desired Requirements (Not Mandatory):

* Experience within the digital entertainment/news space
* Complete familiarity with CNN programming, media reach and on-air talent

Education Requirements:

* BA or BS with Mass Communications, Advertising, Design or Marketing

Technical Knowledge:

* Excellent understanding of typography, design and UX
* In depth knowledge of broadcast standards and the post production process
* Comfortable learning new technology and equipment
* Experience art directing video shoots
* Knowledge and demonstrated ability with the following software and design tools: After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and InDesign
